Holistic empowerment through integrated programs that transform lives and build resilient communities
At Dreams Redefined CBO, we believe that sustainable change comes from empowering women and girls with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities they need to transform their own lives. Our integrated approach addresses multiple dimensions of empowerment simultaneously health, leadership, economic independence, and environmental stewardship creating a comprehensive support system that enables lasting transformation.
We work alongside communities, not for them. Our programs are designed and implemented with active participation from the women and girls we serve, ensuring solutions are culturally relevant and sustainable.
We recognize that challenges are interconnected. Our four core programs Health, Leadership, Economic Growth, and Climate Action work synergistically to create holistic empowerment.
As a women-led organization founded by young DREAMS beneficiaries, we understand the unique needs of adolescent girls and young women, bringing fresh perspectives to age-old challenges.
Innovative strategies that drive community empowerment and sustainable change
We conduct monthly MHM sessions reaching 147 girls across Kisumu County, providing education, dignity, and access to menstrual products. Our DGYG Pads Progress initiative links menstrual health with climate sustainability through reusable sanitary pads, empowering 500 adolescent girls annually.
Through our Integrated Health & Well-being program, we address reproductive and maternal health, teen pregnancy prevention in fishing communities, and GBV prevention. We've reached 523 community members with comprehensive health education and support services.
We empower 500 community members through monthly social accountability activities, budget advocacy trainings, and anti-corruption initiatives. Our programs foster transparency, active citizenship, and meaningful youth participation in governance processes.
We provide economic empowerment training for 350 participants, including table banking, village savings and loaning, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy. Our approach promotes economic independence and sustainable livelihoods across Kisumu.
We empower 30 youth monthly through village savings and loaning schemes, creating access to credit facilities and fostering entrepreneurship. Multiple savings groups provide community members with financial resilience and investment opportunities.
Through our Malizingira Project, we train 30 waste management champions in informal settlements, turning environmental challenges into economic opportunities. We promote income-generating activities through innovative waste management ventures.
Our Climate Action program includes planting 300 trees, conducting monthly community clean-ups, and restoring Kisumu's rivers. We integrate environmental sustainability with economic empowerment and health initiatives.
We provide ongoing mental health support initiatives, recognizing that emotional well-being is fundamental to empowerment. Our holistic approach ensures women and girls receive comprehensive support to thrive mentally and emotionally.
Through leadership programs, we promote peacebuilding initiatives that enhance social cohesion. We empower citizens to hold leaders accountable while fostering constructive dialogue and community harmony.
We guide youth on accessing Affirmative Action and Youth Funds, removing barriers to economic opportunities. Our financial capabilities training equips young people with skills to manage funds effectively and grow sustainable enterprises.
