Dreams Redefined CBO, formerly Dreams Girl Youth Group (DGYG), was founded in January 2017 by young women who were beneficiaries of the DREAMS project - AfiaPlus, AfiaZiwani, and the current USAID4TheChild DREAMS Project in Nyalenda, Kisumu County.
The founders, empowered through DREAMS projects with skills in entrepreneurship, financial capabilities, and comprehensive sexuality education, saw the need to create a sustainable platform that would continue to support and empower young women beyond the project lifecycle.
We extend the efforts of the mother-project in rural and poor urban settlements of Kisumu County, working to reduce cases of new HIV infections, teenage pregnancies, and gender-based violence (Triple Threat) among girls and women.
We envision thriving communities where every girl and young woman has the tools, resources, and opportunities to reach their full potential and lead transformative change.
To promote sustainable initiatives that enhance economic empowerment, health and well-being, good governance, and climate action with special attention to women and girls.
